Blue Monday: when we simply don’t have room for drama

Photography sunrise on Blue Monday

It is said that Blue Monday is the saddest day of the year… but honestly, we’ve spent the whole of January trying to squeeze in a bit of drama and there’s just no room in the diary. Between projects here, meetings there, shoots starting before the sun’s even up… impossible to feel sad on time.

Sure, getting back into the routine is rough; yes, coffee can only do so much; and yes, your bed absolutely has more gravitational pull than any professional motivation. But once you get moving, things start to flow — a bit like those shots you’re not convinced about and that, against all odds, end up working beautifully. And that’s why we think Blue Monday shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

So at INNOVA FILMS, we’d rather flip Blue Monday on its head: celebrate it with humour, with energy, and with the conviction that no Monday —however “blue” it claims to be— can beat a good team, a strong story and a couple of laughs halfway through the day.

January is cold enough without adding Blue Monday gloom on top.

Because, honestly, Blue Monday lasts one day — but good stories and good humour last much longer.

And if Blue Monday’s got you thinking about your next project, we’re always up for a chat.
